United Women Singapore

United Women Singapore is a local non-profit organisation that advances women’s empowerment and gender equality. We works towards narrowing the gender equality gap through education and raising awareness and advocacy on issues of anti-violence and women’s empowerment, with the support of partners from the public and private sectors.

Ching Ne Tan

Ching Ne is a Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore. She has over 20 years of work experience, including being the Asia Pacific Tax director in large multi-national corporations. She has been involved in Corporate social responsibility activities and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Ching Ne holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Singapore and an Accredited Tax Advisor with Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals.

Haslinda Amin

Haslinda Amin is a news Correspondent and Anchor for Bloomberg Television. Based in Singapore, she has been at the heart of events driving the transformation of Asia. Haslinda has reported on major financial and political developments such as Suharto’s downfall, the bloody anti-government clashes in Thailand and elections across ASEAN, India and Pakistan. Haslinda has interviewed world leaders in politics and industry including Lee Kuan Yew, Mahathir Mohamad, Joko Widodo, Benigno Aquino, Thaksin Shinawatra, Tony Blair, Joe Biden, Al Gore, Timothy Geithner, Paul Volcker, Jean-Claude Trichet, Stanley Fischer, John Travolta and Jenson Button.

She also speaks regularly at conferences like those hosted by the World Economic Forum, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, ASEAN and Asian Development Bank. She’s been invited to moderate discussions organised by the Milken Institute, Blackrock, UBS, Barclays, SALT and Aberdeen Asset Management among others.

As part of her wide-ranging role at Bloomberg TV, Haslinda hosts ‘High Flyers’ which has been nominated for Best Talk Show at the Asian TV Awards. Shot on location inside one of Singapore’s most visible attractions, the Singapore Flyer, each episode features Asia’s biggest names. ‘High Flyers’ is the longest-running program on the channel that’s aired globally.

Haslinda began her career in radio covering regional politics. She joined Bloomberg Television in 2002. She graduated from the National University of Singapore, majoring in International Politics and English.

Wei Shing Liaw

Wei Shing is a Director with Citus Trading Pte Ltd, a family-owned business that does physical trading of oil and gas.

He has over 30 years of work experience in accounting firm, multi-national companies and fund management mainly doing tax and finance related work. He was also acting as Treasurer with a National Sports Association for several years and was also the Co-Chairman of the IRAS Taxpayer Feedback Panel for 4 years.

Wei Shing holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Singapore.

Jia Yun Wong

Jia Yun currently leads one of Visa’s key global financial institution relationships across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. She started her career in aerospace and industrial engineering and spent most of these early years in the UK and Germany. After returning to Singapore, she worked at the Singapore Economic Development Board and a start-up before joining Visa.

Beyond her professional role, Jia Yun is dedicated to community service. She was most recently chairperson and advisor to the Young Women’s Leadership Connection, and also serves as secretary on the board of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO). Jia Yun is a mentor with the Dell MentorConnect programme, an industry initiative led by Dell and IMDA aimed at supporting the development of women in STEM.

Jia Yun is passionate about growing businesses and people, and solving complex problems at the intersection of commerce, technology, and community.

Archana Parekh

Archana Parekh is a Portfolio Manager at Millenium Capital Management, an absolute returns investment management firm based in Singapore. She manages the global Financials and Technology equity and credit portfolios.

Previously, Ms. Parekh worked at Temasek Holdings covering the Financials sector looking at global private and public transactions. Prior to that Ms. Parekh worked in New York with Ernst & Young.

Ms. Parekh serves on board of the United Women Singapore. Ms. Parekh received her MBA from Stanford University where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar and received her BA in Computer Science and Economics from Mount Holyoke College.

Paige Parker

Paige Parker moved from New York to Singapore in 2007. A patron, board member, and fundraiser for numerous organisations, including United Women Singapore, SCWO, Asian Civilization Museum, Singapore Dance Theatre, and Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Paige is creator and host of “Pass the Power with Paige Parker” podcast. She is also a former columnist for The Straits Times, as well as a graduate gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America.

At the turn of the millennium, Paige and her husband Jim Rogers spent three years driving around the world, resulting in a Guinness World Record for each. Paige’s memoir Don’t Call Me Mrs. Rogers details that epic circumnavigation to 116 countries, as well as her own personal struggles and evolution, while shining light on the courageous, resourceful women she met from Azerbaijan to Zimbabwe.

As a result of her passion for travel, Paige is a member of both the Circumnavigator’s Club and The Explorers Club. She loves creating empowering content on Instagram and TikTok. Paige and Jim are the proud parents of two daughters, Bee and Hilton.

Harmin Kaur

Founder and Chairperson of Women Venture Asia,

Harmin is a former Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, covering ultra-high net worth individuals and families in Southeast Asia, in the Consumer and Wealth Management Division. In June this year, after 12 years at the bank, she moved on to pursue her passion for building a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem through launching a non-profit organisation, Women Venture Asia.

As a former banker, Harmin recognises the significant economic opportunity and societal benefits that can be optimised by addressing women’s fuller participation as entrepreneurs and in the workforce.

Harmin has hence been a strong advocate for women’s economic empowerment and has led Inclusion and Diversity for Goldman Sachs across the Asia Pacific region, pioneering innovative programmes targeted at building the pipeline of women leaders and increasing accountability at senior leadership level. She has also served on the Boards of leading women’s organisations in Singapore – she is currently serving as Honorary Treasurer at United Women Singapore (UWS), which focuses on empowering women and girls to become future leaders in the STEM and Fintech fields. She is an active mentor with the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Women in Business, which helps empower the next generation of young female leaders and entrepreneurs. She also regularly speaks on topics focused on supporting the pipeline of women leaders. Harmin is a Befriender at Daughters of Tomorrow, supporting underserved women to build financially resilient families.

Harmin is a foodie at heart and enjoys writing about her wine, food and lifestyle discoveries. She has interviewed some of the world’s top restaurateurs and chefs, sharing their inspiring journeys in feature articles published in leading magazines in Asia.

Anna Haotanto

Award-winning entrepreneur, investor, and thought leader in entrepreneurship, technology and leadership. Possesses over 16 years of experience building and scaling up technology companies, M&A execution, and founding Asia’s leading financial literacy platform for women.

A skilled communicator with diverse speaking experience in fundraising pitches, conferences, and as a TV documentary and podcast host. Possesses a wide professional network in technology, startups, finance and female communities across ASEAN. Diverse industry experience in technology, banking/finance, and retail.

Sought-after key opinion leader with more than 82,000 followers across platforms.

Georgette Tan

Georgette is Board Member and Immediate Past President of United Women Singapore. She currently also serves on the board of SHE (SG Her Empowerment) and is Co-chair of BoardAgender.

Prior to her retirement, she was Senior Vice President heading up Communications, CSR and Corporate Reputation at MasterCard Asia Pacific. Her career included senior communications functions in both private and public sectors in Singapore and Hong Kong.

She serves on the Climate Action SG Alliance (CASA), other Alliance for Action (AFA) Committees relating to tech-facilitated gender violence and other women’s issues in Singapore, and serves on the industry advisory panel for the Global Women in Public Relations Singapore.

Georgette Tan is President, United Women Singapore, an NGO advocating gender equality, women’s empowerment and focused on building the pipeline of future female leaders. Prior to this role, she was Senior Vice President Communications heading up Communications and CSR at MasterCard Asia Pacific. Her career includes heading communications roles in both private and public sectors in Singapore and Hong Kong including CNBC Asia, Dow Jones Asia, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Singapore Tourism Board and Sentosa Development Corporation.

She currently the chair of BoardAgender, an initiative of the Singapore Council of Women Organisations, focused on increasing the number of women on boards, and is on the Taskforce on Family Violence jointly led by the Ministry of Social and Family Development and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Georgette also advises female entrepreneurs of start-up ventures and social enterprises in the region.
